国家级文物保护单位、肇庆府城城墙是我国极为罕见的始建于宋、至今仍然基本完整的砖筑城墙，是府城最有历史价值的重要文物。规划要求宋城墙的保护首先在于保护各时期真实历史遗存，科学适度地加固和修复城墙的残毁部分。

拆除城墙周边违章杂乱建筑，彰显城墙的历史文化价值和雄伟景观。保留东段城墙现状及与地方民居结合的整体风貌区，形成具有“老城根”文化的老城生活休闲区，体现城墙与古城民居的整体景观与历史文化价值。

“三朝遗址”将建成景观文化公园

“三朝遗址”是肇庆市在康乐中路建设工程中发掘出土的晋、南北朝古墓群。该项目用地面积0.6公顷，位于肇庆城墙的西北面，与披云楼、城西清真寺隔路相望，是府城众多历史文化、景观旅游资源链条中的重要节点。

遗址区拟建成一个小型景观文化公园，共计需要拆迁建筑总面积约6500平方米。其景观和开放空间为城市提供现代生活与休闲文化场所，以利于府城生活、文化品质的提高。

原两广总督府遗址坐落在如今肇庆市政府的所在地，为此，规划要求市政府要迁出现在的位置，用于建设以展示总督府遗址及西江民俗为主题的民俗博物馆。

重现包公府衙原貌
